Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
From our friends in the nitty gritty retail sector we affectionately refer to as "Off Michigan Avenue", we hear that the entrance to sub-street level tenant (below the closed Culti Milano shop) Rochester Big & Tall on Chestnut will soon be closed off, as in, sealed... maybe forever. Rochester Big & Tall... we know, "Racked, WTF you talkin' bout Rochester Big & Tall for?" Well, not that we know when any of this is going to happen, and we wouldn't have brought it up if a few weeks ago there weren't people milling about in the ceilings on the second and third floors of the building where Escada used to be--but it brings us one hopelessly hopeful step closer to a 5-storey flagship (of some sort) with fast escalators from top to bottom. Perhaps Uniqlo?
