Just outside of Chicago proper in Elk Grove Village, a company exists that will make jewelry out of your dead pet. According to the Wall Street Journal, LifeGem has made more than 1,000 diamonds from animal remains in the past decade, mostly from dogs, puppies, cats, kittens but also a few birds, rabbits, horses and one armadillo. The diamonds, all unique in their characteristics start at $1,400. [Racked]
