Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Costume historian, Sandra Michaels Adams has translated Gillion Carrara's sculptural jewelry so beautifully we're sharing it here: "Materialized imagination, tangible history and future: dreams and visions of buffalo horn, ebony, celluloid and silver become elegant handheld manifestations of nature's gifts. Gillion Carrara transforms natural materials into solid poetry for daily brushes with imagination". For this beauty is the reason that ID has invited Gillion into their space for a trunk show of her new work. It happens March 2 and 3 from Noon - 5PM.
