Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Each time Racked 38 Member, Akira produces a show it is their goal to make it bigger and better than the last. For tonight at their Spring 2012 show called The Valley of Castles held at The Lyric Opera, you can expect garments and props from Lyric shows as well as theater set pieces integrated into the show. Look for armor, weapons, and an amazing backdrop plus pieces handmade by Akira's stylist like pvc accessories, floral rosets around headbands and rope harnesses which are conceptually connected to trends.
There is also a 20-foot grass wall and the entire floor is covered with grass. Both general admission and VIP tickets are sold out but the after-party which is open to the public happens at N9NE Steakhouse on Randolph at Canal.
