PayPal hopes so. Last week, PayPal Here was announced. A triangle dongle plugs into a smartphone used by retailers. Like, its competitor, Square, the PayPal device is used to swipe credit cards for purchases. Transaction rates are low and a bargain for small businesses. But that is not all. PayPay Here also allows consumers to pay for purchases wirelessly. Square provides similar features in Card Case, an iPhone app providing mobile payment capability.
