The re-adaptive construction of The Esquire Theater has been underway for a few months and the ownership, 58 E. Oak LLC is already seeing leasing activity. According to Alderman Reilly's 42nd Ward office, Del Frisco's, Double Eagle Steak House will open on both the second and third floors later this year. This leaves the ground floor to retail. As Reilly reports, 58 E. Oak LLC has leased about 40% of the ground floor retail space to international luxury brands. The remaining frontage of the building 70-104 E Oak (the building just to the right of the theater marquee) is scheduled to start construction late summer.
