Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Chicago-based emerging designer Azeeza Desai Khan will make the retail launch of her line Atelier AZZA this coming weekend at Dose Market. The all new artisan label features hand woven, fine cashmere summer shawls from the pashmina goat, indigenous to the Himalayas in Kashmir. The intricate shawls, which take 6 to 12 weeks to hand embroider, enable economic empowerment to rural South Asian women in struggling regions of poverty and conflict. Pieces from the SS12 collection most recently featured last month in Vogue will be available for purchase, including opulently embroidered blazers and dresses.
