Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

You don't have to be a sneaker head to know that Complex is a go-to source for street wear and cool culture, so it should come as no surprise that they're new mission is to showcase some of the top spots to "grab kicks and chop it up". They recently did New York and LA and now it's time for the Homeland of the Air Jordan - Chicago.

Sure, there's the obvious LDRS 1354 which is bright and cheerful in it's second incarnation on Wells in River North, Saint Alfred on Milwaukee in Wicker Park, and Niketown which is closed until Fall. Then they threw in Born With Soul, Diana Shoes and Succezz which are just a hair less-known but deserve notoriety for their prices limited editions and variety. The last two, who are newcomers to the scene are Vivid Braille which opened last year on Damen and Overtime which is just a few months old on Lake Street in the West Loop.
