You may remember when Carhartt was opening their first Chicago shop, well, get ready for a second one. Though we think the brand chose the best storefront opening in the thick of fabulousness on Milwaukee in Wicker, they seem to have gone in a TOTALLY different direction and rented a storefront under the Loop El tracks at 18 S. Wabash - smack dab in Jeweler's Row. Uhm, diamond-encrusted workwear anyone?
Anywhoo, the store is hiring right now, and hopes to be open by the last week of July. Store fixturing has not year begun as each Carhartt store has a theme to it and most things are custom built off-site. This loction's theme may be it's only saving grace which might make it a destination in the Loop - we're told it's supposed to look like a vintage look textile store.
