THE fashion event of the summer, Glamorama, is rapidly approaching, and many of the social set are already rummaging through closets and scouring boutiques to aid them in the summer's most important decision: what to wear on Aug. 10. But fashionistas are going to have to decide a little faster as Glamorama's prelude, the GLAM Launch Party, is just days away on June 8.

Early bird ticket purchasers (those that purchase their Glamorama tix by June 7 at 5PM) can score an invite to the exclusive kickoff party at the Greenhouse Loft by purchasing tix now. You don't want to miss out on this exclusive and fun opportunity. Once your tix are purchased, you'll be able to hobnob with other fashionable windy citizens over some thumping beats, good eats and cold drinks. All of the ticket proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

This year's theme is "British Invasion: The Music Then. The Fashion Now." The fashion show will be an homage to British icons of the last fifty years in music and fashion. And how apropos that the theme coincides with the anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's 60- year reign as monarch. Maybe we should all don coordinating suit separates and a big hat in her honor? You decide.

Glamorama is just as much about fashion as it is about the entertainment, but no word yet on what special musical guests will serenade us during the show. A Beatles tribute band, perhaps? -J'nai Gaither
