Desirée Has Big Plans for Making Ebony a Lifestyle Experience

As Desirée Rogers, CEO of Johnson Publishing addressed students at Columbia University recently, she touched on the Ebony brand she's re-energizing. After a tough first year in the hot seat, Desirée has broken down, cut the fat and rebuilt the Johnson empire to focus on growth and expansion in year two.

Things to look forward to are all-encompasing, citing motives of building a lifestyle company. Think Jet-sponsored concerts, boat trips, an online dating site and the resurrection of Ebony Fashion Fair fashion shows which have been on hiatus since 2009. Additionally, Desirée may have someone start a home line which could include dinnerware, or an apparel or jewelry line.
