Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Since the new Ritz Carlton Residences construction scaffolding came down late last month, Tommy Bahama, the building's cornerstone retail tenant has plastered enticing vacation photos featuring models dressed in coral-colored linens, drinking what seems to be blended coconut drinks.

This is the first step before the crews start the interior build-out, shooting for an August opening. While we anxiously await our pastel polo paradise with the rest of the Avenue, we're told that the sales force hiring process has begun. Applicants can go to the Tommy Bahama web portal for additional direction. They're hiring a full staff for their brand new store design that has only been seen in California and Florida locations thus far. The interior will feature all the usual Tommy Bahama tropical fanfare including better lighting, but not have the Tommy Bahama restaurant, "The Island" which is famous for the Pineapple Jalapeño Mojito and Guatemalan Granny spiced rum drink.
