Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
In celebration of Father’s Day Weekend, the company with the best reputation for keeping you punctual, Timex is dropping some coin and erecting a vintage pop-up barbershop at The Shops at North Bridge just outside of Nordstrom. It happens the 16th between Noon and 3PM. At the pop-up, dudes can treat themselves to fresh summer ‘dos and browse the latest Timex Intelligent Quartz watches. Shoppers will also have the opportunity to meet hunk-a-hunk-a burnin' love, Maksim Chmerkovskiy of Dancing with the Stars when he stops by to shop for a digital censored, micro-processed Intelligent Quartz timepiece for his own dad. We're thinking his dad will want one with functions like Tide Tracker for when he's fishing in Maryland, a Thermometer and a Compass for the chilly nights camping in the Alaskan tundra, and the Fly-Back Chronograph, Perpetual Calendar, World Time, 2nd Time Zone, Altimeter for flying east, traveling into the future.
