Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Young and forward, as we recently saw with his Fall 2012 menswear collection, Julius LaCour isn't done pushing back formal ideas. As an extension, for Fall women's collection, he's used the same inspiration of the act of flagellation through history.
When one waxes on the idea of flogging, whipping, caning or beating someone beauty and comfort aren't normally the first things that come to mind but he somehow does it. The collection is worn by Maggie from ROCK and shot by Escalante and features a printed fabric, smatterings of red, and integration of somewhat kinky/violent black textures.
