Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Chicago-based webstore, TheTieBar.com is once again celebrating National Bow Tie Day. Remember last year? It's on August 28 again, but this year, they're going global.
As if there weren't enough Youtube and Vimeo bow tie fanatics out there showing you their bow tie skills, TheTieBar is asking bow tie lovers around the world to submit videos of themselves tying bow ties "at all the crazy ends of the earth". What they mean by this is you should be anywhere crazy tying a bow tie. Think the glass box in the Willis Tower, The Bean in Millennium Park, waterskiing at the Wisconsin Dells, the Great Wall of China... whatever creative place you feel is the most extreme place to tie a bow tie. They're taking video submissions now and will continue until July 15.
