'Tis summertime once again when the sun is brighter and the days are hotter. These are two reasons why it's a perfect time for a drink and a hat. And who better than Graham Thompson, husband of the fabulous Nina Falana and owner of Optimo Hats to let us in on what a pro would wear while drinking what.
1 lime, cut into pieces
2 ounces of cachaça
2 tablespoons sugar
crushed iceWash the lime and roll it on the board to loosen the juices.
Cut the lime into pieces and place them in a glass.
Sprinkle with the sugar and crush the pieces (pulp side up) with a pestle. Just enough to release the juice, otherwise it'll get bitter.
Add the cachaça and stir to mix. Add the ice and stir again. potent.
And of course, one's brow mustn't be dewy whilst sipping a Caipirinha, so Graham chooses a Classic Fedora Montecristi Panama. Of course, this hat, costing $595 is crafted by Optimo, and features a tapered crown and a steep front to back rake for a dash of panache. There's a 2 1/2 inch brim and a 16 ligne ribbon finishing off the look.
