Spex, one of Chicago's hotspots for eyewear, particularly shades, just opened their third location since January in Andersonville. This brings the total number of Spex locations to a whopping nineteen.

The thing about this Andersonville location however, is that it is also the third Spex store to have a Lumiere sunglass boutique attached to it. The other two are Hinsdale and Lakeview.

What you may be curious to find out is that each Lumiere store, which is a division of Spex, has the ability to order what they think the community would want (per the manager's discretion). For Andersonville, think the funkier styles by Prada and Paul Frank to name a few. This is also the only store to carry Strada del Sol, an award winning lightweight titanium folding brand.

Putting their tagline, "International Design and Local Style" into play, Spex plans on opening more Lumiere boutiques attached to Spex, but from what we're told will not open freestanding Lumiere boutiques.
