Andersonville Starts Green Week; Dates Set for Sidewalk Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Andersonville Green Week, a week-long celebration of eco-friendliness, kicked off yesterday and runs all week long up until Sunday. Some turf has been rolled out right in front of the Coffee Studio creating a temporary 'parklet' and other fun and stunty events are happening at businesses and shops along Clark Street. What we're most excited for are the make your own pom-pom duster and laundry soap workshop and the make your own fabric jewelry workshop, both at Sifu. Maybe we should also be excited for the crayon recycling program that Green Genes is spearheading. For an entire list of happenings, head to the calendar which is updated each day this week.

Additionally, the Andersonville Sidewalk Sale dates have been announced. Mark your iCal for July 27th and 28th where all our favorites sprawl out onto the sidewalks between 5000 and 5800 N Clark. Thats an entire mile of shops with sales, many of whom do special buys just for the weekend.
