Cecelia Myers of Cakestyle Dishes on What to Wear to a Yacht Party and Wedding Shower

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Cakestyle, one of Chicago's newest fashion savvy tech startups is doing a booming business, which is why we're curious what they'd recommend to wear for our weekend plans. Founder of Cakestyle, Cecelia Myers culls her racks lined with Milly, Ellie Tahari, DVF and David Meister in her lofty Tree Studios showroom and pulls out the goods. First up, The Race to Mackinac yacht party circuit in the harbor. After the jump, what Cakestyle 'll set you up with for a summer wedding shower.

The Race to Mackinac is on and its time for a yacht party. It can get chilly out on the water even when it's warm out, which is why we added the scarf to this dress. Its bright pattern will make the nautical blue pop. We also added these fabulous flat (and comfy) flats along with a bracelet and simple stud earrings. You'll be windproof, chill-proof and fashionable in these looks.

Wedding season is upon us and we're sure you've got a few wedding showers marked in your iCal. Get ready for your next bridal shower with this gorgeous, bold, versatile dress. It's attention-grabbing without being flashy (after all, it's the bride's day, but of course you can look gorgeous too). We added a tough necklace and some grey-violet pumps to create a ladylike look, with an edge.
