African Art Under the Big Top!

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Primitive, the multi-story, multi-ethnic West Loop behemoth filled with authentic art and sculptures from the owners' travels, is having a sale. Nothing interesting about that. What IS interesting is that they are having their very first African Art Sale. This isn't just any sale, though-- there will be over 1000 pieces on display for you to peruse. The sale will be so big that they will erect a Big Top a la Cirque du Soleil, in the lot next door, to house all the beautiful wares. The sale will also last a whopping five days--August 1-5. But art isn't the only thing on sale. Furniture, sculpture, pottery, textiles, masks, beads, etc. will be marked down to as low as 90 percent off. And this is stuff that you more than likely haven't seen in Primitive's showroom. If you'd like to view the selection before the sale begins, just call Primitive to schedule a private viewing with a client advisor. Do you think your home is ready for an ethnic makeover? Even if it isn't, get to Primitive anyway. We'll be there. Stop and say hi! [Racked Inbox]
