We've all heard how Chicago Public Schools are struggling in funding, how teachers need to buy school supplies for students and how some student's families don't have the ability to go all out in the school supply arena. Well, here's a great idea to quell that situation and help office dwellers help school students get what they need OfficeMax is making back-to-school shopping ultra affordable this week and if you don't have kids, you can make good for a back-to school drive. Right now through Saturday, shoppers can get a backpack for one penny at OfficeMax at 33 N Dearborn, or the other Chicagoland locations or online.
Here’s how it works: Buy one or more student backpack, laptop backpack or messenger bag using the store rewards card and receive the entire cost of the backpack, minus one penny, back in their rewards account for future purchases. Then, all you need to do is donate that brand new backpack to your neighborhood elementary school, sit back and feel good about yourself.
