Up in Ravenswood, there's three muscle men about to take the fitness scene to the next level. In just a few short days, on August 10, AJ Canzolino [pictured], Ken Haggard and Jorge Bezerra, are opening the first Urban Athlete; a 3,200 square-foot state-of-the-art training facility. A larger 7,000 square foot location in Andersonville or Uptown is planned for later this year which will include spa amenities.
Founded as an alternative to the mass marketing of personal training Urban Athlete’s goal is to create personal exercise and nutrition programs that are as unique as each individual client. The staff Urban Athlete, with a combined 60 years of training experience challenges clients with unconventional workouts. The team focuses on functional fitness and total body movement starting off with a free personal training session and fitness evaluation to calibrate where you'd best fit into individual training programs and group classes.
