New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Welcome to the final stretch of Racked Chicago's search for Chicago's hottest trainer. Over the past two weeks, we've been profiling smoking hot candidates who work at local gyms and studios. (Not only do they look hot in spandex, but if you take their classes, you might someday look nearly as good.) Once we've introduced everyone, we'll host a March Madness-style showdown in which you get to vote for your favorite.

Sheri Koepsel, hailing from Wisconsin is an independent trainer, operating at three different fitness facilities in the Milwaukee area. She's been a personal trainer for over 10 years and in the competitive and social fitness scenes for even longer. Most of her career has been spent building a client base in the Milwaukee and Chicago metro areas, taking a short 4 year break to train in Scottsdale Arizona.

Sheri's free time consists of training and competing in the National Physique Committee's figure competition, whose next show (Badger State) is in ten short weeks on October 20. [Watch Sheri last year] Right now, Sheri's in contest prep mode and does cardio as soon as she wakes up in the morning, and makes sure it's the last thing she does at night. During the daytimes, she does lifting sessions which means she's working out three times per day. In Shari's spare time, she loves to travel visiting friends in Arizona and Florida, reading fitness magazines, watching reality TV "chillin' with my homies and networking. She confesses, being between Milwaukee and Chicago so often, she can't help but fuel the rivalry between the two places. Sheri tells us, "I lovvvvve training! It's the most amazing, fullfilling job I could ever ask for!"
