Rita T’s is Bringin' the Goods With Summer Days Pop-Up Market

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

When it comes to summer shopping, the heat and foot traffic can suck the fun out of any potential buy. If you want a unique one-stop shop (did we mention food and alcohol?), pop in to Rita T’s Elements for Living warehouse market and get it all done in one afternoon. An e-com site for all things interior, Rita T’s boasts a warehouse showroom in the west loop that sells an eclectic mix of home accessories, antiques, rehabbed midcentury furniture, design services and more.

Rita T’s opens its very stylish garage doors this saturday August 4 from 10AM-4PM for a pop-up mini market with thirteen other vendors. Purchase a contemporary tufted chaise, a funky acrylic tablecloth illusion table, or opt for one of the vendors’ products, such as eco-friendly hand knit toys from The Sprout Company, homemade clutches from Chicago Lost and Found, or a gentleman’s boombox, deftly hidden in vintage luggage from ArtPentry.

From milliners creations to Mini Coopers, you can find it all at Rita T’s. Sip on Sobieski martinis (get two free drink tix upon admission), nosh on gourmet pancakes and bacon wrapped waffles on a stick from Leah Wilcox’s Baby Cakes food truck, or try on a pair of custom handmade boots. Whatever your heart (and wallet) desires, you can stack all of your goodies in a brand new Mini Cooper, which will also be for sale during the market (yes, really). Prices range from $20 - $23,000 (a Mini-Cooper isn’t just a car, it’s a fashion statement, after all). -Rea Frey
