Montreal-based DavidsTea is expanding to the Midwest market and opening three new locations for tea-selling suspiciously nearby existing and potential Argo Tea locations. The first is at 924 W. Armitage, mere steps from 958 W Armitage where the original Argo is. Then there's the planned DavidsTea locations at 1645 N. Damen Ave in Bucktown by the Buck-a-Bou and 3530 N. Southport Ave in Lakeview by Starbucks. The Bucktown Shop is scheduled to open October 13 and will not sell food, only tea and tea accessories. Not only does this stifle opportunity for Argo's growth in these neighborhoods, it makes us believe that tea is 'the new coffee' and perhaps iced tea is 'the new coconut water'.
