Alternatives Shoes located next to Akira on the first floor of Block 37 decided not to renew its two year lease at the end of its term July 31. This is the third business in Block 37 to close since June, the only one selling splashy European footwear, but still. LA-based owners of the mall are supposedly unveiling a plan this fall that will makeover Block 37's projected image. Alternatives Shoes still runs a location in the 900 N Michigan Shops.
