In the second post in a three-part series, our intrepid 'finder of the impossible', Samm Mackin scours two continents to track down designer, Christina Fan and get some answers about finding love and settling down.

Fashion designer Christina Fan was not too long ago one of Chicago's most eligible bachelorettes. Today she is happily engaged and amidst her busy life jetting in between Chicago and Shanghai is planning her wedding. With a historic Shanghai landmark as the location Fan's big day is sure to be as unforgettable as the exuberant clothing that she creates.

Racked: You're getting married soon, congrats.

Christina Fan: Thanks from both of us! We're very happy and enjoying every minute being together.

R: Can you tell us any details about the wedding? We heard it will be held in China?

C: The wedding will be held in Shanghai at a historic location, which housed many influential figures in the politics of modern day China and global history.

R: Will you be designing your own wedding dress?

C: Yes and no, I'm taking a very classic silhouette, which I can't attribute to myself, but am designing the façade, which is all hand embellished pearls, glass seed beads and crystal.

R: We know you're fond of whiskey and fur will you be able to incorporate either of those elements into your wedding?

C: Well, the wedding is a Fall/Winter wedding so we'll have to fit it in somehow!

R: Where do you see yourself settling down eventually?

C: Wherever life brings us! I believe that a wonderful and loving home environment can be created anywhere as long as its inhabitants are healthy, stable and maintain a positive attitude. Maybe Shanghai, London, somewhere in the US or who knows!
