Now that we're fully immersed in the Racked Awards madness, it's time the competition really catch fire. We've done the best shoe selection, Chicago's best new store and top market, and now it's time to vote for the Store of The Year. This category, is by far the most important. Who moved and shakes the most; the best. Who was the most prolific in the business of selling fashion and cultivating a community.
The nominees are as follows: Ikram for celebrating one year in her beautiful red box, attaining a guest editor status on Target's blog, On the Dot and for her store's upcoming feature in an architectural glossy. Second, we have Sofia who has moved onto Walton to allow for their storefront to be demolished and rebuilt as part of the "new Oak". In their new space, they've upped the game in product, labels and atmosphere. Additionally in Malibu, they've opened Bananabeat. Then we have Blake on Chicago Ave who has been slowly outgrowing their space and will be getting even bigger in the coming months.
Rounding out the list we have Akira who has just celebrated their 10-year anniversary with a camel and has announced a Hyde Park flagship with a huge shoe section. Akira has also opened their first locations outside of Illinois. Lastly, we have Perchance, who after opening in the Elysian-turned-Waldorf moved their Southport store to a better location, still on Southport and opened a children's store in the heart of Lincoln Park.
