After their first season, Australian designers working in New York as the label TOME, Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin have been lauded in the same vein as Prabal Gurung, Rodarte and Alex Wang by winning the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award for 2013. Included with this recognition comes $25,000 in capital to produce a runway show during New York Fashion Week.
The pair, who have been trained by Derek Lam, Alberta Ferretti, Dunhill and Gaultier is now creating simple, modern clothes all on their own. And this new talent hasn't gone unrecognized. TOME has peaked up the ears in interest of Kim from Paper Magazine, Sally Singer and Neiman's Ken Downing. Sounds like a good investment, no? In Chicago, one of the first shops to stock TOME is space519 at 900 North. The collection arrives this week.
