Despite the horrible state of JCPenney's finances, the megabrand is launching two new spring collections, Joe Fresh and Pearl by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa. The Joe Fresh collection includes trendy separates, dresses and outerwear that are vibrant and affordable. Pearl by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa offers cocktail and evening dresses, skirts, tops, pants and jackets, all under $250. Two styles pictured here. Given the optimal placement for these gowns at parties, black tie events and summer soirees, we turn to up-and-coming personal blogger, Sierra Widmer-Rodriguez of Style On the Line.
As far as I can see, partnerships and collaborations between major department stores and fashion forward brands is the next big thing. It creates a lot of hype (especially when the collections are only available for a limited time) and offers the department stores something new and exciting. Personally, I am no longer a department store shopper. I think women nowadays are turning more toward boutiques and online shopping to get a more personal experience. However when department stores like Nordstrom, H&M, Target and now JCP are partnering up with exciting brands, it is a good reason to pop in the door and check it out!
