This year, Polaroid will launch a new experiential retail concept in 10 locations across the country calling them Polaroid Fotobar. The stores will allow customers to take their everyday photos from their devices and turn them into physical, museum quality pieces. Next month about an hour North of Miami in Delray Beach the first store will open. Additional stores will be New York, Las Vegas and Boston among others which may include Chicago, though has not been officially announced. The stores will allow customers to wirelessly locate and transmit their best photos to the workstations and edit them, part iPhoto/Lightroom style with simple image correction techniques, part Instagram style with filters. The photos can then be printed traditionally or onto metal, bamboo, canvas and experimental materials of the like.
