Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
It's finally open, but we're so not done with news from The Fashion Outlets of Chicago. On Friday, the shopping wonderland got its highly anticipated Joe's Jeans outlet. A rep for the property described the second-floor space as "half-industrial—with enough reclaimed wood to fill an Etsy shop—and half minimalist elegance." Under the crystal chandeliers, look for men's, women's, and children's denim; there are also knits.
The store doesn't have an official phone number yet. But the shopping center's front-desk agent had (apparently) already done some Joe's shopping, and she had some scoop for us: most jean styles that typically go for $149 are around $99 at the outlet; same for sweaters. Also, the entire store was 30% off for its opening weekend, and here's still a banner in the window advertising the discount today. So, if you're near Rosemont, and reading this—what are you still doing here?
