There's nothing better than a blowout for a quick confidence boost. It can get addictive to head to the salon to put a little spring in your 'do, but it can also get pricey. So if you want to give the service a D.I.Y. spin, bust out your blowdryer and follow these eight steps from Blowtique creative director Rhona Kane. She just happens to be one of the city's premiere artistes in the field of sexy-going-out hair.
Step 1: Wash hair and thoroughly towel dry
Step 2: Apply a pea sized amount of Oribe's 'Supershine Light' (provides sleek finish with lightweight body) from mid-length of hair to ends, and comb through
Step 3: Lightly spritz the hair with Oribe's 'Volumista' Spray
Step 4: Dry hair with blowdryer from above to eliminate frizz until hair is approximately 70% dry
Step 5: Separate hair into three separate sections with butterfly clips — lower, middle and top
Step 6: Take a medium barrel round brush and blowdry each section, rolling the hair upward to keep the volume, making sure the roots and ends are completely dry. Take each section as deep and as wide as the round brush you're using.
Step 7: Liberally spray hair with Oribe's 'Impermeable Fantastic Finishing Spray' to leave it soft and natural while also adding hold and protecting hair from the elements.
Step 8: Admire your work!
(And, quick bonus tip: if you want to pick up any of the Oribe products mentioned below, you can nab them at Blowtique.)
