Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Halloween week is a prime time for a candy-store bash, and Cheeky Chicago is hosting just that. Tomorrow night, the ladies behind the popular local website will take over Vosges Haut Chocolat for a FancyFlip launch party.
Founded by two sisters, FancyFlip is a spanking new consignment service that hosts pop-up shops filled with gently used designer goods from Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Gucci—you get the drift.
After the first event at Vosges on Wednesday , the pop-up sales will take place online or at various locales throughout the city. At tomorrow night's fete (from 6 to 8 p.m.) there will be sips from Naked Grape wines, music, and plenty of mingling.
But the real treat? If you bring in an item to consign, you'll get 75 percent commission on the selling price, plus a box of Vosges chocolates. The event is free, but you have to RSVP, so drop a line to cheekychicagoRSVP@gmail.com. And if you have an item you'd like to consign, shoot an email to service@fancyflip.com
