Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The dancers of the Joffrey Ballet are always on their toes. But today, the graceful performers are busier than ever as they prep for the company's annual fashion-centric bash, Couture & Cocktails. Starting at 7 p.m. tonight at Park West, the chichi benefit is chaired by Sonya Y. Jackson and Kathleen Henson. Tickets will be available at the door, and you can peep the rest of the deets here. But first, let us introduce you to one of the evening's star mannequins.

The event's centerpiece is a a fashion show that features the company's costumes alongside ballet-inspired designs from Neiman Marcus, and dancers will serve as models. As she preps for her jaunt down the runway, we caught up with ballerina Jeraldine Mendoza and asked her to fill us in on her Chicago picks for shopping and all things beauty. Here's what the adorable dancer had to say:

My favorite Chicago stores are...
I'm late to this, but I just discovered the semi-annual Renegade Craft Fair. I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and found the cutest accessories. Two of my favorite vendors were Copper Peace, an L.A. based store—my boyfriend bought me the cutest leather tote bag from them! I also loved Fresh Tangerine, which sells really fun jewelry.

Another store I like in Chicago is RSVP Gallery. They're always showcasing the most up-to-date and up-and-coming designer street wear.

When I'm not wearing ballet flats...
I love Y-3, which is a collaboration between designer Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas. So their pieces have really unique Japanese cuts while also having the comfort and function of Adidas. That's perfect for a tired ballerina who still wants to look fierce.

When I need a trim...
I really enjoy going to Ladies and Gentlemen [at Block 37] for haircuts. They have such a nice, clean vibe there.

I get my beauty fix at...
Aside from getting some of my cosmetics from Walgreens and M.A.C., I also like going to the Bare Escentuals counter at Macy's. I love the natural look they give and the way their products feel on my skin.
