Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Bath & Body Works has long had a place in our bathroom cabinets and on our bedsides (ah, Sleep.) And spending a Saturday night at the mall, amidst its rows of sweet-smellig products, would've sent our 15-year-old selves over the edge. So it tugged on our nostalgic side to hear that the brand is releasing a new scent, and hosting a little sneak-peek bash at its Oakbrook Center store tomorrow night. And lets hear it for hometown pride: this is the only preview event in the country, so Chicago gets the very first spritz.
Forever Midnight, the sleekly packaged fragrance that contains notes of plum nectar, jasmine, and night-blooming vanilla orchid, officially hits the market on Monday. But Saturday's shindig will give shoppers a chance to sniff and purchase the product on site. There will be live music from DJ Chris Mix, and the chance to play around with Bath & Body Works' new filter app, ScentSnap (it creates photo backdrops inspired by different scents.)
