Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Ikram has a new neighbor. Now open at 9 East Huron Street, Frederick Lynn Haberdasshere is a 2,200-square-foot showroom that offers one-on-one shopping appointments for men. Think of it a swanky a place to meet with a personal shopper, rather than just browse around. The space showcases hand-tailored, custom garments for men that run the gamut from business-casual to formal. There are also items for women and children.

President and founder Aaron Comes started Frederick Lynn in 2010, with the goal of "giving my clients a private, calmer alternative to the classic retail experience," he said in a press release. Comes used to visit clients in their homes or offices; with his new showroom, he and his team will offer "the same personalized attention in a centralized, beautiful space."

Decked with handmade furniture from local makers, a full-service kitchen and bar, and bright artwork, the space is intended to make clients feel at home. Comes will even serve specialty cocktails and bring in catering from local restaurants.
