Gift Ideas From The Langham Hotel (That's Right, a Hotel)

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Hidden gem alert: The Langham Chicago's gift shop, dubbed Flavours of Langham, has some pretty gift-worthy goods this season. One of the hotel's virtues is its fine-art collection—it comprises more than 150 pieces—and that good taste extends to the gift shop.

Now in stock, a series of six Walking Figures ($119) from English pop-artist Julian Opie is only available in Chicago. (Yep. We have the exclusive.) There are also Walking Figures coffee mugs ($21.50 each) and lenticular bookmarks ($9.75 each.) And, you can score fine-art prints of vintage photos from Hendrich Blessing photographers ($250 to $350.)

But if you're shopping for a kid who's more into tea parties than art—or for your doggie—there are gifts you may want to check out, too. Take a look inside the store, below, and note that this Christmas shopping trip comes with a built-in break: Flavours of Langham opens out onto Pavilion Lounge, where afternoon tea is served daily.
