Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Tasting Table's brand new event, Open Market, is launching in Chicago December 6 and 7. With a Friday-night market an artisan producer fair on Saturday, the event will take place at Block 37, and we can promise one thing: no one will go hungry.
More than 40 chefs, pastry chefs, and producers will showcase their wares at the food fair on Saturday, and vendors include Little Goat Bread, Katherine Anne Confections, Manna Organics, and, oh, about 37 more.
We're telling you this early for a few reasons: one: you may be downtown shopping anyway ('tis the season), and need a little snack; two: if your pantry is anything like ours, it could use a few stocking stuffers of its own; and three, this is a brand new event! And Chicago gets it first! (So, we're a little excited. That's all.)
Tickets to food events tend to get snapped up like hotcakes in this town, so it never hurts to get yours early.
