Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Got plans for New Year's Eve? If you do—or if you don't— check out Splash's guide to some of the biggest bashes in town. Along with naming parties to score tickets to, the guide suggests outfits to wear to each soiree.
An example? The Drake has a gigantic bash happening, and the dress code is all about the sparkles. Sequins catch the light in a way that's perfect for the packed dance floor, said Derek Guillemette, head buyer at Rent the Runway. He also recommended finding something with a shorter hemline "to make more of a statement."
For something a little more subdued, the Tortoise Club is having a bash with a bubble machine and live jazz. Stylist Katie Schuppler suggests tossing on a lace jumpsuit or dress.
