Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Looking for some skin-salvaging tips for the New Year? We just heard about a new item set to hit Ulta's shelves in January, and had to share the news. (Because confession: we love a flash new beauty product. And plan to imbibe liberally tomorrow night.)

Called Miracle Skin Transformer Face Spotlight, the illuminating salve is made with pearlized mineral pigments, and packed with good-for-your-skin vitamins. Which could come in handy after a night of chugging bubbly.

Face Spotlight retails for $48, and can be used under foundation give skin that dewy look, or as a cheekbone highlighter. Will it work miracles? In the name of research, we may have to give it a dab and report back.
