Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Quick: name one good thing about January in Chicago. Stumped? We may be able to help you out. During the frigid month, ritzy Oak Street rolls out major deals (we're talking up to 75 percent off) with its "Let It Snow" sale.

Here's how it works: a bunch of Oak Street stores between State Street and Michigan Ave offer steep discounts on their fall and winter wares. You can get the whole scoop on the street's homepage, but let us wet your bargain-hunting whistle a bit.

Barneys New York has discounts as high as 60 percent, while Lanvin is offering fall and winter merchandise for up to 50 percent off. For every $250 you plunk down at Kate Spade, you'll get $50 off. Pratesi Linens are going for 20 to 50 percent off, and Furla's winter collection has been marked down by up to 40 percent.

And, p.s.: If all that shopping stresses you out (or, more realistically, if you still can't afford that Jil Sander), unwind with a massage at Renew Spa. Though it's not participating in the sale, the hidden gem on the corner of Oak and Michigan has massages for as little as $45.
