RIVER NORTH—Have you heard of this thing called Eataly? It's a new 63,000 square-foot land of magic and pasta with eight restaurants co-owned by celebrity chefs Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich. It opened Monday. Here are photos of it, a photo of 200 people waiting to get in, photos of the opening day, and people going gaga on Twitter.
GOLD COAST—The two biggest openings of the year happened on the same day, as One Off Hospitality (Publican, Big Star, Violet Hour, avec, Blackbird) opened Nico Osteria on Monday too. It serves lots of regional Italian seafood, fresh pasta, cocktails, and creative desserts.
LOGAN SQUARE—Yet another highly-anticipated restaurant opened this week#8212;The Radler in Logan Square. The chef-driven Bavarian beer hall in a hipster neighborhood has house-made sausages, sauerkraut, pumpernickel, other pickled things, and plenty of beer.
LINCOLN PARK—Ready for one more opening? Fairways, the first golf simulator restaurant and bar in the city, hit the links on Tuesday. Click here for photos, the menus, and more.
