EXPO Chicago head Tony Karman just announced that this year's festival will be bigger and better than ever. The inaugural EXPO Chicago in 2012 was an outstanding success at which Navy Pier played host to many of the world's most important art galleries. It was the event which placed Chicago again amongst the major players of the art world. But this year will see a new and improved edition of EXPO in the creation of EXPO Arts Week—a weeklong celebration of all of Chicago's amazing culinary, performing, musical and theater arts.
There will be many opportunities to shop and spend money during EXPO Arts Week, which will take place from September 16-22. EXPO Chicago will be the cornerstone event, so get your art budget ready, but the week will also highlight special programming such as gallery openings and museum exhibitions, public art projects, installations, theater performances, and restaurant partnerships and dining experiences.
Partners to date include the Lyric Opera, Hubbard Street, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, CSO, Joffrey Ballet and Steppenwolf to name a few, and restaurant partners include NoMi, Pump Room, Sepia and Spiaggia among others. There are even hotel partners like Public Chicago and the Park Hyatt, which will offer shuttles to take tourists around to the various events. Stay tuned to Racked Chicago to keep apprised of EXPO Arts Week.
