Normally when in the presence of beauty that overtakes the body you break a little sweat and find a loss for words. Such is the case when you're perusing Monique Péan's work in the cases at Ikram or if you stopped by eco-friendly jewelry designer's special show at Barneys this weekend.

Many of Monique's designs incorporate pave diamonds, recycled gold, fossilized walrus or woolly mammoth bone. For spring '13 the collection, named K'atun, draws from Guatamalan ruins shrouded in tropical overgrowth. So think architectural, angular shapes and for the first time ever, fossilized dinosaur bone. No kidding, the collection is one that will meke you lose your breath-if only for a second- until you realize these pieces cost just hair more than a fraction of your salary.
