WEST LOOP—Word broke this week of a new concept from Boka Group, one of the top restaurant groups in town (Girl & the Goat, Balena, Boka). It'll be steakhouse in the West Loop to open at some point in 2014.
CHICAGO—Caribou Coffee announced that they're closing all 80-plus Chicagoland locations at the end of the week, although some will rebrand as Peet's Coffee and Tea. They were the second largest coffee chain in the country.
RIVER NORTH—Brindille, from NAHA chef/owner Carrie Nahabedian, will open April 22. It's one of the most anticipated and secretive openings of the year.
CHICAGO—The Eater 38, a quarterly-updated list of the most influential Chicago restaurants, was released for Spring. The new additions are Sepia and Cumin.
