Yesterday we got the news that riley. on Damen was closing due to the sale of the building last year. Earlier this year we learned that Cans sports bar was closing and being converted to a yet-to-be-named store. Now today, that the building housing Clothes Minded and Chipotle has been sold by Baum Realty. The lease term for Clothes Minded is up next year and they're not sure if the rent will be raised to reflect the climate of the neighborhood or skyrocket out of reach. That's a lot of movin' and shakin' and a little uncertainty for that stretch of retail.

All this brings us to wonder and fantasize about what stores would work in these spots. There's the obvious ones like a C. Wonder, Athleta, Piperlime or something like Nike's Lincoln Park Training Club, but from what we've been hearing from our East Coast confidants, it's going to be boutique-y. Steven Alan has allegedly been looking at entering the mix on Damen, specifically in this stretch between North Avenue and Wabansia. And though the entry is unconfirmed, wouldn't it totally fit in right there?
