Over a year ago when we first found out that the Famous Rush Street Starbucks was moving, we knew that whatever would take its place was going to be monumental. Soon after, as Frank Muytjens and Jenna Lyons were snacking on ca dong at Le Colonial, we discovered that this monumental store was going to be Madewell. And now after months of anticipation, Chicago's first Madewell, after suburban stores in Oak Brook and Skokie is open on Rush St in the Gold Coast.

If you weren't one of the weekend shoppers who made it down to Rush Street this weekend, here's what it looks like. Lofty ceilings and dropped industrial lighting, greenery in terrariums, washed white shelves holding miles of denim and eons of chambray. The store is built into a few different rooms for showcasing trends. Spring and Summer hours for the store are 10AM-8PM monday through Saturday and 11AM-6PM on Sunday.
