In honor of TBT, aka "throwback Thursday," Chicago darling Kristin Cavallari posted a photo of herself with a few equally slim, adorable old friends. The best thing about this photo? Three of the four girls in the photo (including K. Cav) are rocking what was undoubtedly the high school girl uniform circa 2005: Fitted black tops and artfully frayed denim mini skirts.
It's hard to imagine the super-stylish star ever wearing something like this now—these days she's all about simple skinnies, her Alexander Wang Rocco, shoes from her own line, and baby Cam as her best accesory. But as much as denim mini skirts have been replaced with printed maxis, we've got to admit that this skirt epitomizes what a lot of us probably once considered "fashion." Not when paired with Uggs, though. That's just not okay. Also, the mini is the distant cousin of the classic denim short, so her blood still runs through the veins of so many updated wardrobes.
So let's have a #tbt moment of silence for the forgotten denim mini, shall we? May she rest in peace.
