GRANT PARK - SELF magazine's annual Workout in the Park is this Saturday, June 1 at 11AM. CelebTV co-host and shoe fanatic Kelli Zink emcees the festivities at Butler Field on Monroe with yoga, invigorating classes from CRUNCH gym, nutritional know-how knowledge, beauty consultations, and freebies galore. Tickets are $20.
LINCOLN PARK ZOO - There isn't much more of a serene place than the boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo--watching waterfowl swim around in the pond, chirping frogs along the shore, and maybe Cafe Brauer for a snack. The new highlight to the zoo though isn't the family of harbor seals or the Moholi bushbaby, it's Jeanne Gang's pavilion where yogis congregate and stretch the world's problems away.
This Saturday at 9AM and Saturday at 10AM there's a free intro class to kick off the season. 50 classes happen June through September each Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. The drop-in rate is $20 per class, or if you're a member of the Lincoln Park Zoo there are special rates.
LINCOLN PARK - The newest Chicago studio for The Dailey Method is breaking that cabin fever and bringing you to the park for --get ready--Planks In The Park. The very first class, led by Natalia Negron, Director of Training is a Dailey Interval class and happens June 1, from 10-11:15AM. Expect to drop a cool $20 which can be deducted from your Dailey Method account or come in the form of cash. The class meets at the studio on Clark and Belden, then walks together to the park. Mats are provided.
OLD TOWN -Equinox gym has partnered with the Hotel Lincoln this June to keep you toned and lean with the best view possible. Every Wednesday morning in June from 7AM - 8AM the skilled instructors from Equinox are teaching classes at J. Parker, the hotel's expansive rooftop restaurant. Take in unparalleled views of the Conservatory, the skyline, Lake Michigan and the North Pond Nature Sanctuary while proving your strength in challenging poses. The cost is $5 for members and $20 for non-members and complimentary for hotel guests. Classes are filling up VERY quickly so make sure you claim your spot in advance.
